Frequently Asked Questions

On this page I try to answer what I think you’ll have questions about. If you have different questions (or you don’t like the answers to these ones) please contact me.

What do you mean by rebate? Where’s this money coming from?
Brokers (FXCM, Forex.com etc.) make money from the spread - the difference between the bid and ask price. You’ll see this advertised as “3 pip spread on EUR/USD” and such like. On an application form, there’s a space for a referring agent - someone who pointed you in the direction of the broker. The broker gives that guy (me) a part of the spread. So the money comes from the broker, which comes from your trades.

So, you make money from my trades?
That’s absolutely correct. And the more trades you make, the more money I pass on to you. By opening a broker account and not filling in an agent name, you’re passing on all the cash to your broker.

What’s the catch?
Really, none. You get the same service and the same spreads as traders who have no referring agent. You just get the extras.

Do you give any other benefits?
Yes. First of all, you can contact me anytime with any trading questions, problems or broker complaints. I have considerable experience in forex trading and can help you avoid many of the pitfalls new traders fall into.

I also provide resources to traders in the form of e-books (detailing my method for entering daily trades, others will follow soon). I make these available for anyone to use but forex-rewards clients also receive constant email support.

My main aim is to provide a package for traders I wish I’d had when I was starting out. Free guidance, techniques and now rebates.

Do you have access to my account? Can you charge me commission?
I have no authorisation to either trade on your account nor charge extra fees. I am only compensated through the bid/ask spread - which is not affected by having a referring agent - I am only able to view the trades you have made in order to calculate rebates.

I already have an account with one of the supported brokers. Can I still get rebates?
Yes, you can. Simply open a new account, this time putting a referral agent’s name, and then use a transfer form to transfer the money over from your old account. It’s a minimal amount of effort to get the additional cashback payments. Please click on your broker's logo on the home page for specific instructions.

Can you pay my rebates into my trading account?
Sorry, no. A third party cannot make payments into your account as part of anti-laundering measures.

Why should I trade through the brokers you recommend?
Click on the broker logos on the home page for information on each broker's advantages.

Do you offer any other brokers?
Yes. My other site, www.myforexrebates.com, offers non-NFA brokers.

Do I get $4 for every trade?
No. It depends on the size of lot you’re trading. A $100K trade on Eur/Usd will realize a $4 rebate on most brokers. A $50K trade gets $2. It doesn't matter which currency pair you are trading. Non-currency trades e.g. gold, do not qualify for rebates.

If you are not sure which lot size you should be trading, contact me for advice.

Where are you based?
I live in Japan (because my wife is Japanese). Have a look at the ‘contact’ page too.

How do I find out how much I’ve accumulated in rebates?
Email me at any time for a current figure.

If I want a bank transfer, is there a minimum amount?
As there is a fee of around $40-60, which is paid by you, I would recommend waiting until you’ve accumulated at least $500 but no, there’s no minimum amount. You always have the option of deferring payment until you’ve built up a good-sized amount. Payment by cheque is not an option currently. PayPal may charge a % fee on your payment.

When do I get paid?
Payment is sent on the 17th of the month for the previous two or six months, depending on your preference. Before being sent your cash rebates you’ll be asked if you want to defer payment to a later date.

What if you’re late in paying me?
My business relies on total honesty to my clients. If I wasn’t my status with the brokers would be revoked. Late payments do not happen. Note: Payments are sent on the 17th of the month - wire transfers will take a few days to reach your account. PayPal payments are same day.

I have $5000 capital. Should I open a 100K account? I want the full rebate.
No. This will result in over-leveraging and increasing leverage increases risk. My advice is 100K accounts shouldn’t be opened with less than $20,000. If you’re unsure about leverage/risk management, do some research on the net, ask your broker via live chat or contact me. Over-leveraging and bad risk management are the downfall of many, many new traders.
